X and PLUS EQUALS QUILTED! from Kwilty Pleasures

This is a pattern I have had in my to do list for-ever!

The X and +

I love everything about Zen Chic including THIS pattern!

And the Zen Chic White Christmas fabrics.

And I added some greens from my stash to get the colors I wanted.

Let’s see how this all adds up!

I made all the blocks and added this huge 6” border.

I had a small Christmas print in green/chartreuse for the backing.

And off to Kim Hensley to work her magic!

x & + from Kwilty Pleasures

This quilt has been on my to do list for many years.

There's something about the X and + design that intrigues me.

When I saw this version by Zen Chic...this was it!

I had Zen Chic 'White Christmas" fabrics in my stash

for many years and couldn't decide

what it should be...this was it!

I added some green FQs to the "White Christmas"

FQ bundle to get the vibe I wanted.

I love the block trays and stacked up

the pieces that would make the cut!

Sewing began and more

Projects - Past, Present, and Future from Quilting Studio Adventures

X and + QUILT from Kwilty Pleasures

I love all things Zen Chic.

I have had the inkling to make the x and + quilt forever!

I have also had a bundle of Zen Chic ‘White Christmas’ fabric forever!

It’s got a bit of metallic in it

Sew this is gonna be gorgeous!

My original intent was to make ‘Those Trees’ quilt by Zen Chic.

My friend made it and it is lovely.

But for whatever reason…I just couldn’t cut into the bundle.

And so it sat until this pattern caught my eye!

I love the green in the mix. Still a Christmas color.

A Baby Quilts Catch-Up from Sew........This Is My Blog

Since I took a break from blogging during the Pandemic, I missed sharing some of my finishes with you, so I decided to have a little Baby Quilts Show and Tell.

In 2018 I started making a few baby quilts to put back for the great-grands, and only got two finished.

In 2019 I finished three more to put back. I used a Zen Chic charm pack for this one and had a little fun with the border.

Ikat from Liz Makes Crafts

Ikat is a pattern by Brigitte Heitland featuring fabric from her Fragile collection, one of my favorite fabric collections ever. I've made so many quilts with it, including Fragile, Paradox, and Critical Sunshine, and that's just the ones I've finished quilting! What can I say, I'm a sucker for black and gold.

STRIP PLUS QUILT...ALMOST DONE! from Kwilty Pleasures

OK, I still need to put the binding on this one.

I am waiting for my Bernina 740 to get back from spa day.

If its not finished soon...I will use my Bernina 440.

I like the dual feed on the 740, sew I should just wait!

So Many Projects: A Good Thing from Quilting Studio Adventures

Sometimes I’m happiest when plotting what projects I want to work on next. And I’m also aware my stash is dangerously close to being out of hand. Wait. Let me restate the truth: my stash is out of hand. See all these 2” strips? Leftovers from a community project. These aren’t my favorite colors to work with, but they are lovely. Workshop met Brigitte Heitland. from M. Brito de Campos

Eind mei zijn mijn vriendin Carla en ik naar Lochem gereden voor een workshop bij Margreet Otto. Brigitte Heitland toonde quilts uit haar nieuwe boek "Modern Building Blocks' en gaf een workshop met haar patroon Jewels. Een low volume quilt! Is weer eens iets totaal anders.

De quilts uit het nieuwe boek zijn erg mooi en de mogelijkheden met de buiding blocks natuurlijk eindeloos.

De zwart-witte tafel loper lijkt mij wel leuk.

Crushing on Fabric from Quilting Studio Adventures

Sometimes when looking at fabrics, I fall pretty hard. Designer Janet Clare did some wonderful stuff for Moda with a line called Wordsmith. I've made several quilts simply because I love working with these fabrics. Grandson Sam has one of these quilts, and I can't even remember who has others. Paper Chain from Liz Makes Crafts

After the ultra-colorful and bright Glass Candies, I wanted to pick a quilt top with more subdued colors for my next finish. I decided on Paper Chain, which is a block-of-the-month quilt that I made last year.

The fabric collection I chose is Breeze by Zen Chic, and the layout is from the Quilt Block Cookbook by Amy Gibson. This quilt really gives me a Japanese vibe!

Bohemian Spark from Liz Makes Crafts

I wanted to finish Bohemian Spark for Valentine's Day, and while I didn't quite make that deadline ... at least it's still February! Both the pattern and the fabric (Just Red) are designed by Brigitte Heitland of Zen Chic.

Friday Finish: The Neighborhood Quilt from Patchwork Sampler Blog

Quilting. Literally... from Quilting Studio Adventures

While I’m working on current projects, I’m always scheming future ones. These fabrics are a Japanese linen - I’m not sure how they will quilt and wash. Their feel is so much different from the meaty softness of peppered shot cottons. But the colors...I love them.

Paper Chain ~ Final Assembly from Liz Makes Crafts

I've finally completed my last block-of-the-month of the year! Paper Chain is a paper-pieced block-of-the-month designed by Freshly Pieced. Out of the 4 block-of-the-months I've done this year, this one is perhaps the most traditional: 12 blocks, one block a month.

For me, fabric selection is always going to be the most challenging part of a quilt. This is why I like kits so much, but I decided not to do a kit for Paper Chain and instead curate my own fabric. I decided to use Breeze by Zen Chic.

Fragile from Liz Makes Crafts
